This heater was a near-perfect replacement for my 10 year old stock one that sprung a leak. The only thing I had to change was to move the grounding block from one end to the other where the original was installed, in order to not have to re-run a longer grounding wire, but that was easy to do with a hex bit. It was also nice that it came with extra tubing even though I didn't end up needing it.
For years, I have always replaced my dying Laing circulation pumps for my Jacuzzi brand hot tubs, with the same Laing pump. But, after my last one died, the price point helped to change my mind. I thought it's time to try a replacement at almost 1/2 the price point. My Jacuzzi hot tub is used throughout the year and not just during the summer months and the circulation pup is running 24hrs daily.
The first thing you need to make sure of is that the HyroMaster is somewhat bigger than the Laing. Unless you are adventurous and want to totally relocate the new pump to a location that makes it easier to use, you have to rework the little block of wood that the Laing pump sits on. Once you use a block that is approximately 1/2 the thickness as the original, you can get the Hydro Master into position so that the discharge port faces the heater assembly. It's really not all that hard to do. rotating the discharge port to the 9 o'clock position is easy to accomplish. The plumbing is then the same as the Laing and very easy to do. The electric connection is also very easy with quick connect tabs already on the wires.
The flow appears to be better than the Laing it replaced by evidence of the ozone bubbles being more numerous as they enter the body of the hot tub.
Overall, it was fairly simple and I kinda like the motor design of the Hydro Master pump, especially with the cooling fan design on the motor end of the pump.
Time will tell, but so far, it looks very promising for 1/2 the cost.
Was so glad I was able to connect with spa-depot to locate a hard to find center post heating element for my spa. Price was very competitive for a quality part!

Previously I used a bilge pump and a hose designed for pool filter drainage.
This was painful and always required a wet vac to finishe the job.
This spa depot spa pump works great, have used it twice.Little bit loud but no big deal. And for its size you would expect this.
Will purchase again when the time comes.

Ordered pump and ended up being 2 days later than originally quoted due to delays with UPS. Was easy to hook up. Plenty of length on cord and hose connections were easy. Liked the mount plate as well. When first turned on ran about 2 seconds then started leaking badly. Called customer service and they were able to accept a text of a video I took to help clarify where/how leaking. They immediately said they would get me another pump. When pump #2 was received, once again easy to install. Turned on and runs great. Very quiet operation with good flow. No noticeable vibration like have experienced with other units. This is the 4 th circulation pump I have had in this Sundance Spa since new (20+ years ago). So far really like this one compared to other brands, especially for the price. Just guessing the original pump must have been assembled wrong, don’t feel would be common issue. If have issues with this pump plan on updating review.
What was amazing is how quickly spa depot got the the part to me. Not surprising because I have needed spa depot help before. They have never let me down. Thanks spa depot my 18 year old is still working great.
I ordered a spa control package for my 10yr old hot tub due to the heater element failing. unit was programmed how I selected but one of the pumps was not working. Amie helped me figure out why the second pump wasn't working .walked me through programing the control box and got the second pump to work with 2 speeds which it never did before even when it was brand new. Amie was a pleasure to work with and was patient with this old timer. I will never purchase spa parts from anyone else. she went above and beyond. Thank you Amie.

The old micro switch is plastic, this one is great because it's metal. Be wary of that fact when removing your old switch.
This is a larger micro switch than used on Hydroquip remote heaters but should fit.

This filter is very good, it keep your hot tub water clean for a long time and is very easy to clean .Oh the price is good
