How can I tell if my old spa cover needs replacement?
The first indication of a failed spa cover is weight. Insulating cores saturated with water become heavy and lose practically all of their insulating value. Other indicators include ragged vinyl due to rotten seams, poor seal around the spa perimeter, center hinge gaps, etc. A quality replacement cover can pay for itself in energy savings alone.
What is WeatherShield Outdoor Fabric?
WeatherShield is an extremely durable outdoor fabric that is 3 times stronger and weighs 25% less than marine grade vinyl. In addition to its good looks, it's also extremely resistant to harsh UV rays.
Is WeatherShield easy to clean?
Yes. For routine cleaning, spray away debris with garden hose. Treat surface with Spa Clean spray, working soiled areas with Spaange silicone scrubber sponge. Rinse after 15 minutes. For stubborn stains, mix a solution of no more than 1/2 cup household bleach to 1/2 gallon of water in a plastic container. Lightly daub bleach solution to stained area of outside fabric surface, being careful not to overly soak. Rinse completely within 2 minutes. Allow to air dry, then apply 303 Outdoor Fabric Guard to restore water repellency.

When it comes to spa covers, insulation & strength are key considerations. With a 4”>2½” tapered core, our Light Duty model is designed for indoor use. On the other end of the spectrum, the Heavy Duty model boasts our strongest 6”>4” tapered core, and is the very best energy saving spa cover money can buy!
What is the Energy Saver Package and how can it save money?
Save energy in 2 ways - The Energy Shield layer redirects up to 95% of radiant heat back into the spa water, while Hinge Thermal Seal virtually eliminates rising heat lost through the hinge.
How does the Endurance Package extend the life of the spa cover?
First we increase core strength 33% by upgrading from 1½Lb. to high density 2Lb. insulation. Then, to further protect the core, we add a second Vapor-Barrier to keep water out of the insulation core. Finally, to reduce wear and tear opening the cover, we add 2 Extra Handles to lift from any side.
How much weight will your covers support?
Because of the variables involved in weight distribution across a covers surface area, load ratings cannot be expressed in pounds. Some sellers will make outlandish claims of “Static” weight loads, but in reality, it’s pure hype. 5”>3” covers with 2lb. insulating cores are generally capable of supporting moderate snow loads. Compared to other brands, DuraTherm covers have equal or superior weight bearing capabilities.
How do I measure for a new spa cover?
Can I order my cover without tie-down straps or a skirt?
ASTM standards require we ship your cover with safety straps. We definitely recommend against it, but they can be snipped-off later at your discretion. Minimum skirt length is 2", or we can make your new spa cover without a skirt.
How long are your cover straps?
All cover safety straps extend about 4" from the bottom of the skirt.
Are your insulating cores protected from water saturation?
Our vapor barrier seals moisture out of the insulating cores, offering better resistance from spa chemicals than ordinary spa cover liners. Take this protection to the next level with our Endurance Package, which adds a second vapor barrier wrap!
Will a new spa cover reduce my spa heating costs?
We engineer DuraTherm spa covers with a prime focus on energy conservation. They can easily pay for themselves in heating cost savings over the life of the cover.
How long should a hot tub cover last?
With correct care and maintenance, covers typically last from 5-7 years.
How can I make my cover last longer?
Periodic cleaning and protecting the cover with the right products goes a long way to extending its life. High sanitizer levels like bromine, chlorine, and ozone attack the insulating core vapor barrier, reducing its effectiveness. Maintaining correct sanitizer levels and leaving the cover off for half an hour after adding chemicals helps tremendously.
Do you make covers for bolt-on Hot Spring cover lifters?
Our covers do not accept cover lifters that bolt into the cover. Covers designed to accept these types of lifter are destined to fail. Water intrusion into the insulating core is inevitable where the lifter bolts to the cover. We recommend using a standalone cover lifter.

Is spa cover shipping free?
Free Spa Cover Shipping really means the actual freight cost is hidden in the inflated cover price. We don't like that. Our reasonably priced, meticulously crafted covers with transparent shipping charges are a far better value than the competition. Sorry, we cannot ship out of the contiguous US-48.
Do you have spa covers in stock?
Our spa covers are custom made to order. This ensures proper fit, beautiful color choices and additional options and upgrades.
How long will it take to get my replacement spa cover?
DuraTherm spa covers are very carefully custom crafted to order. Quality like this can’t be rushed. ETA (Build + Transport time): 5-7 weeks. Our quality focus takes a little longer than the "just get it out the door quick" mentality of other manufacturers.
How will my spa cover be shipped?
Since spa covers are too large for conventional package delivery services, they ship via freight truck.
Do I need to be present at the time of delivery?
The trucking company may contact you in advance but you need not be present at the time of delivery. Freight damages are unusual, but if the cover appears damaged, contact SpaDepot.com
