Second purchase of this item...they last about 3 years it seems. Decent quality and is truly a near universal replacement.
I have trouble getting the plastic plugs out of the sensor tap holes. Not sure what product SpeDepot puts on the threads but the plastic twists away before the plug loosens. I usually have to carefully drill them out.
Overall a great buy - far cheaper then the OEM part...if you can still get it!!
Good solution for a tricky problem. Made pressure switch location more accessible!
Order arrived as scheduled. Great customer service.
This was a near perfect replacement. My original heater had a stud to hold on the cover. The new one did not. I was able to hld it in place with tie wraps. Way to go . You guys deliver !
Awesome people to deal with - they researched the part I wanted to purchase to make sure it would fit & sent a confirmation email prior to ordering it
Had great difficulty finding this heater tube/ element that would fit my tub. This arrived in only a few days to Canada and with all the universal adjustments my hot tub was back up and running in no time. Will buy from here again as required !!
This universal heater assembly fit our Royal Spa hot tub perfectly. It was easy to install and I didn't have to make any modifications to the spa setup (hose placement or connections).
Heats very very well ...the installation was a bit of a hassle just because of the extra sizing ..being it was a 2"" heater unit and my old 1 was 1 & 1/2 ""...i had to move main contol box add reducers add extra length to fit up with previos piping ...but over all very pleased with performance
the original manufacturer for my spa is no longer in business so I ordered this assembly and it fit right in but the element was bad called and they sent me a replacement took all of five minutes on the phone and now my spa is back up and working great thanks for the awesome customer service
Easy installation and cross reference. Very helpful when ordering.
Shocked when I received unit & it stated 240 volts on the container. Relooked at Spa Depot information & realized that it was universal 120-240. Shocked again when opening the box & found no instructions. Very happy when I googled Versa-Therm & found the active instructions!!!! I would like to mount outside the hot tub as it is beautiful & extremely well made.
How do you remove the plugs without them breaking away
Heat the plugs and they'll remove easily. Avoid a heat gun, but a hair dryer will work well.
We have a versa heating tube and wondering if it makes a difference in what direction the tube is installed for flow? A new heater tube was installed and now we can not get FLO off and spa water is not going thru the filter. Help.
The heater isn't directional but if you're using a pressure switch, the pump MUST discharge through the heater. Email us (help@spadepot.com) a photo of your setup and we'll be happy to troubleshoot and get your spa back up and running.
My versa-therm heater assembly #BX5950AT has a ground wire attached to it, my old heater assembly did not have a ground wire, must this unit be grounded or is that optional? Thanks
Grounding the heater is mandatory, but using the provided grounding wire is optional. Ground the new heater the same way the old heater was grounded. If you have any questions, give us a call and we'll walk you through installation.
Which wattage heater do I order?
If you examine the labels on your heater, the wattage should be listed either in watts or kilowatts. If you can't find it, give us a call and we can help you select the correct replacement.
