Apparently the product I received had a manufacturing defect

I installed the shaft seal per instructions using the recommended pre installation lubricant. The first time I turned on the pump the plastic portion of the spring loaded component of the seal crumbled and water leaked back in to the brand new motor I had just installed. I had to install the seal from the old motor that had seized to use the pump while I looked for a new seal in the local area. I can not comment on return policy because the price of the product was not worth the added aggravation of returning the defective product and waiting for a replacement.
