Hot Tub Fix

We purchased these patches to repair a crack in our acrylic shelled hot tub. The crack was about the size of a dime in the shape of an "X". Normally a complete repair for this kind of shell is done through a resin application but we wanted to try these first since the crack is inconspicuous and these patches are clear colored. These patches are available on Amazon at the same price but delivery would have taken 2 weeks. Walmart offered these with a 3-day delivery window and they arrived just as promised. You get two large squares and two rectangular pieces in each pack. For our use, I was able to cut a patch from a rectangular piece, slightly larger than the crack we were repairing. Unlike Gorilla or Flex Seal tapes, these are fairly thin, and easy to work with.
After draining the hot tub, we cleaned the area with alcohol and applied the patch. The directions say to wait 24-48 hours before refilling the tub but to be on the safe side, we waited an extra day before refilling the water. the bond is immediate so be careful that you place it exactly where you want it on the first try. Our only concern was maybe the chemicals in the water or the higher temperatures would degrade the patch but after a week, no leak so far! Even if the patch has to be reapplied when cleaning and refilling the hot tub, the purchase was well worth it. I would recommend them for this use.

That's the stuff!

We enjoyed our hot tub for around 5 years until a rodent made a mess of the inner workings. I knew it was going to be expensive to replace/repair. When I found the patches, I quickly discovered they were just right for the job. I'm impressed by how easy it is to use these on the "jet tubing" which is what the prime target of the rodent seems to be.

It worked!

Cleaned the hot tub, let it dry, and applied the patches to the area where there was a small crack. Almost a month later and there is no leaking. There are extra patches, bought 2, in case they are needed.

Did the Job

I bought this patch to reinforce an epoxy patch that I had to make on a brand new hot tub that cracked. The manufacturer said it would take till March/April 2021 to get me a new hot tub so I used this to patch the cracked one till the replacement comes. It did the job.

I had ordered a new hot tub cover, it came damaged, something had fallen on the new lid Andy punctured the new lid, I filled the hole with high heat silicone, then used a4 inch patch over the top of the hole and is working great! Great product, it works great!

This was a great buy!

Sealing a small pinhole leak was very easy with this product and I did not have to cut the line. It was very easy to use. I would buy this again. Thank you!1

Leaky hot tub

I have a hot tub with a vinyl liner and I patched four tiny holes and two other areas that looked as though they might be the source of some leaking as well. Three days later, 5 of the patches are still working while one of the patches was found floating around inside the hot tub.

Many uses

I bought this product to fix a hole in the watering system of my chicken coop. I had my son help to tap the holes for the nipples, and he was a little sideways on one. My choices were to cut the pipe that was already installed and glue in a coupler, or use the Spa Bond. This product is over a 11/16 hole in the bottom of a gravity fed watering system, and it is working like a charm. I would say this is the James Bond of Spa Bonds.

Hello, can I use this under water to fix an above ground pool liner?

SpaDepot.com

While the patch can be placed where it will be submerged, it must be applied to a clean, dry surface.

Can the patch be applied while there is a water leak or does the spa need to be drained (no water present when applied)

SpaDepot.com

Applying the patch to a clean dry surface yields the best results.

How do I get MT1090 leak seal patches off so I can apply rubberizeit to the whole tub?

SpaDepot.com

Try heating the patch with a heat gun. Once it's warm, it should peel right off.
