HydroMaster E5/E10 Low Flow 16-GPM Spa Circulating Pump ¾" Barb

For years, I have always replaced my dying Laing circulation pumps for my Jacuzzi brand hot tubs, with the same Laing pump. But, after my last one died, the price point helped to change my mind. I thought it's time to try a replacement at almost 1/2 the price point. My Jacuzzi hot tub is used throughout the year and not just during the summer months and the circulation pup is running 24hrs daily.
The first thing you need to make sure of is that the HyroMaster is somewhat bigger than the Laing. Unless you are adventurous and want to totally relocate the new pump to a location that makes it easier to use, you have to rework the little block of wood that the Laing pump sits on. Once you use a block that is approximately 1/2 the thickness as the original, you can get the Hydro Master into position so that the discharge port faces the heater assembly. It's really not all that hard to do. rotating the discharge port to the 9 o'clock position is easy to accomplish. The plumbing is then the same as the Laing and very easy to do. The electric connection is also very easy with quick connect tabs already on the wires.
The flow appears to be better than the Laing it replaced by evidence of the ozone bubbles being more numerous as they enter the body of the hot tub.
Overall, it was fairly simple and I kinda like the motor design of the Hydro Master pump, especially with the cooling fan design on the motor end of the pump.
Time will tell, but so far, it looks very promising for 1/2 the cost.

Ordered pump and ended up being 2 days later than originally quoted due to delays with UPS. Was easy to hook up. Plenty of length on cord and hose connections were easy. Liked the mount plate as well. When first turned on ran about 2 seconds then started leaking badly. Called customer service and they were able to accept a text of a video I took to help clarify where/how leaking. They immediately said they would get me another pump. When pump #2 was received, once again easy to install. Turned on and runs great. Very quiet operation with good flow. No noticeable vibration like have experienced with other units. This is the 4 th circulation pump I have had in this Sundance Spa since new (20+ years ago). So far really like this one compared to other brands, especially for the price. Just guessing the original pump must have been assembled wrong, don’t feel would be common issue. If have issues with this pump plan on updating review.

I haven’t had it installed for long but i’m impressed initially. High build quality and sounds very smooth.

This was a replacement for an older model Jacuzzi. Caused an error messsage when installed. Not compatible even though specs were the same as the old one.
