Customers praised this under-mount spa cover lifter for making cover removal "a breeze" and easy one-person operation. Most found installation straightforward, though some noted instructions could be clearer. The lifter requires no drilling into the spa cabinet. However, several customers reported durability concerns, with aluminum tubes bending or breaking after 1-2 years, particularly in windy conditions or with heavy covers.

I could not imagine not having this lifter. It makes opening our hot tub a breeze. Easily a one person job. Second best investment we’ve made( hot tub was #1). Took us less than an hour to install(tub was empty) even if filled, lift a little bit of siding and the plate will slide underneath. We used a block of wood and tapped with hammer. Open lid half way, push on the bar and lid lifts off. We actually like that it doesn’t completely fold away from the tub. It’s not in the way at all but gives us a little privacy/wind block.
Bought this with a cover and have purchased from SpaDepot for years. It broke right on the elbow after being used for three months. I asked if they could replace just the one piece that broke to which they wanted $55. They blamed the manufacturer, so much for customer service...
Bought this cover lift because we were getting tired of lifting the cover and sliding it behind the hot tub. We didn't want to drill the tub, and picked design that slides under. It works great, looks great, and towel hooks are an added bonus. Very happy with it!
Its a bit short for my height of hot tub so i could only use 2 of the 3 attachment holes on the upper fittings, but i made it work. Self drilling screws worked great.
Spa depot customer service is available to help with selection of the right parts. The prices are great and delivery was fast. Best site for Spa products!
We liked this product as it does not attach the to spa with any hardware. Slides under and does the job.
Really helped my wife with taking the top off.
Works great and easy to use
The response time was great and the product works as descrbed.
Bought to replace the side arms which have been replaced about once a year--get bent in high winds. Love the undermount option and overall, well made and reasonable price.
After having the lid lifter on my old hot tub torn off by high winds, I bought this one, The weight of the hot tub holds it on, no screws to rip out. When we changed states and got a new hot tub, this is the lifter I wanted. Assembly was quick and easy, I used a Dewalt driver that made quick work of setting the screws. The directions were clear and easy to follow, just read them through and assemble the pieces after you've set the base under the hot tub. I didn't install the towel rack, in more sheltered environments it would be ok, here In Colorado my towels would end up in the next county.
perfect fit, quality product
Makes cover removal and replace super easy. No problem to install.
I was replacing an existing cover holder and this one fit perfectly it's just not as heavy duty as the last one the poles are aluminum so be careful when you open it cuz if you push too hard theooles will bend.
Good Quality, Works great
Very good service
The bottom plate as 1/4 thick so unable to get it underneath the tub. I thought it would have been like a blade that would slip under with a rubber mallet or something. Can't lift the tub even empty due to injury. Additionally, the hot tub manufacturers state nothing should be placed under the tub else will void the warranty. Didnt find this out until received the manual with the tub delivered. Not returnable so good luck. Going to try to rig it some other way.
I had this lift before and it lasted 5 years. That doesn't sound long but the tubes do not have drain ports so eventually it rust due to water Penetration. If you have room for the cover to flip I would suggest buying it. I have been a hot tub own for 22 years..My last lift was a Cover Valet side mount. Total garbage. It did not lift to a 90 degree angle. Plastic flimsy side structure could not even hold the weight of a 2 yr old cover. It last less then year.
Definately works as advertised. Easy to install. I like the look. Hopefully it will extend the life of the cover.
Love the spa cover lifter. Extremely easy to install and makes opening and closing the cover a snap.
Really nice hot tub with powerful jets and cool LED lighting.
Works well. Assembly instructions could be better written. Not as clear as they could be.
Only been using it a couple weeks so far but it went together easy and working great so far.
Installation went as expected. Would purchase again.
Easy to install and operate. Really like that the cover stores behind the spa when in use versus looming over the spa creating a wall. My second CoverMate II. First CoverMate was going strong in it's fourth season. Unfortunately, I didn't fasten my cover closed during a wind storm and the 50 knot winds caused my cover to bend the cover lifter. Thank goodness the CoverMate was still available.
It's only been two days but so far it works as advertised. It was not too difficult to install and we are happy with our purchase. So far, I would purchase again. It seemed reasonably priced
We're on our third lifter. Side support tubes keep buckling. We have a 6"" thick cover in the mountains - it's well sealed and not holding any water but the lifter just can't take it. We even reinforced the side pipes with additional pipe but the aluminum keeps bending until it breaks. Wish someone would make one out of thicker aluminum to withstand heavy duty covers.
The winds here in Las Vegas get brutal and destroyed part of the one I bought from you 3 years ago. I'm using this new one as replacement parts as I need them. I would defiantly get over and over. It makes et the lid off and on a breeze.
Great item for assistance when lifting the cover. Can be a little tricky putting together. Use your computer for instructions. The ones included are rather vague. Item arrived on time, and was exactly as described.
