The unit was easy to install with few moving parts Only issue was the the black and res wires were the opposite of the previous unit and it would have been nice to have DYI instruction. I guess that is what YouTub is for. .

I purchased this heater in mid-August 2023 and installed it upon arrival. As of mid-February 2024 the heater malfunctioned and kept tripping the GFCI circuit. I reached out to Service regarding possible warranty. After paying $23.46 to send the heater back to them, I was informed that corrosion was caused by water chemicals and it wouldn't be covered. Don't buy this Balboa knock off if you want something that lasts!

I wouldn't recommend to anyone.

Turns out limited warranty means if it breaks in a week they will write it off as your fault. They don't stand behind the products they sell at all. I'd look elsewhere for parts.

Soothing Saltwater Spa

Our spa is back up and operating, ow that the heater has been replaced. The original manifold was corroded through, as was a bit of the heater core. We now have a new manifold and a titanium coated heater element. We are lowering the amount if salt in half and making the Chlorinator only run 2 hours a day. Thats a good start to keeping the chemicals in balance and the spa running with no more corrosion. Best thing about this entire process…The staff at Spa Depot openly answered question about our use of saltwater in our spa and knew exactly what was happening and what we needed replaced. Once the parts were here, it was a rather easy job to do. I spent more time unscrewing all the screws on the cabinet, than snything else. Anyway, Thank you Spa Deot for sharing your knowledge!
