Acid Magic is safer for spa or pool lime scale cleaning. Won't burn intact skin, about 90% less fumes. To acid wash filters, first clean with Power Soak or ecoTUB Filter Soak. Rinse, then soak in 1 part Acid Magic to 20 parts water until bubbling stops. Great for cleaning tile, brick, stone, grout, and concrete etching.

  • The user-friendly Muriatic Acid
  • Superior to dry acid for filter scale removal
  • Ideal for descaling salt chlorine generator cells
  • 32 oz bottle

Product notes: Follow label directions/precautions. Not to be used to aid or effect a pool or spa disinfectant or water modifier.

Balances alkaline water

This works great to balance our spa water, which is extremely basic well water. I had so much trouble using the Alkalinity Down-type products as they were entirely ineffective, and I was quite confused as to why my water was still so gross. A few capfulls of this acid does the trick.

Not Packaged Properly

I bought this product to help with reducing the high alkalinity of my well water. It seems to be working and I am finally able to adjust my pH properly. The only issue that I had was that one of the bottles had leaked. The caps were not taped closed and the bottles were laying on their sides, even though there is a warning to ship them upright.

Great product

This was the only thing that would drop the alkalinity in my hot tub.

tough time controlling alkalinity

the water in our part of the country is very hard, with high alkalinity and pH. I had been using ""dry acid"" compounds in my spa to lower alkalinity and pH after my last drain and refill. I could NOT get either value into acceptable ranges, and when they were reduced to near acceptable levels, they would only stay there for 2-3 days, then would be high again. Resulting problem...cloudy water. this product was more effective at lowering both alkalinity and pH, and I plan to use this product in the future to treat my spa water when I drain and refill.

I buy this product every season

My water has very high pH and this is the only thing I have found that will balance it at start-up.

I would definitely buy this product

The odor was not too strong, however I would recommend still using in a ventilated room or possibly use a facemask. I used it to clean my hot tub and filter covers. . . I scrubbed and scrubbed the filter covers and couldn't get them clean and I used this product and they ended up looking like new.

Great for filters and other things too!

I originally purchased the Acid Magic for cleaning the scale from filer cartridges and also for lowering the high pH of our pool (I like it better than dry acid because I dont have to worry about it dissolving or acid crystals lying on the pool bottom). But Ive found another use that was not expected. I had a pair of pruning clippers that had rusted so bad that you could not even open the blades. I knew that muriatic can be used to remove rust so I soaked the shears in Acid Magic overnight. Like magic the rust was almost completely gone in the morning!

Much better than plain muriatic acid

Identical to regular acid in performance but much more pleasant to use.

Good stuff!

I run into some particularly nasty cleaning problems in my residential cleaning business. One of them is dirty bathtubs with certain types of stains that have been nearly impossible to remove until I discovered Acid Magic. Its used in place of Muriatic Acid and advertised as a safer alternative-- thats what caught my eye. It will not burn the skin although I have found that it will sting if you have a cut or open sore. It definately has a lot less fumes than Muriatic Acid however you still do get some fumes that require you to have open ventilation. When I use Acid Magic I wet the area to be cleaned and let it sit for at least 20 minutes or so while I do the rest of my cleaning away from that area. I have found that extra time gives the acid time to work and time for the fumes to dissipate. After letting it sit I usually only have to use a wet rag to clean out the tub but occasionally it will take a second application to get all the dirt and grime clean if the tub was really groaty or has calcium scale issues. Ive had success using Acid Magic on tile porcelain tubs and sinks brick & concrete and at home have used it to remove stains & scum from my boat hull. One thing to be careful of like Muriatic Acid it will slightly etch concrete. Overall its is a better choice for me than plain Muriatic Acid and it sure makes my cleaning jobs a lot more pleasant!

Acid Magic

The product does work as well as muriatic acid when used full strength. If you apply this product to a heavily calcified area and leave it soak for a few minutes there are some fumes.

Great for dissolving calcium from my filters

We live in an area of the country that has hard water and this causes a lot of calcium scale buildup on the spa filter cartridge. Instead of throwing them away I soak them in a diluted solution of Acid Magic. They recommend a 20 parts water to 1 part acid dilution but Ive found that you can use less acid if you dont let the filters go too long. I plan to soak them about once a month before they get too bad using Power Soak filter cleaner first to remove oils. Another trick is that I keep a spare clean filter on hand and let the dirty filter soak overnight. That way we can use the spa right away without having to wait while the dirty filter soaks.
